Growing Old
Age time’s rust in blood and bone,
a slowed down sense of evening
the shadows number only
the hours drained of emotion
creeping towards the dark
time was time is ticks the machine
the rust grows thick
a murkiness in the blood
covers the human yearning
to leap up to bud and spring
in my end a starting point
